SBC Surf photo editor Jeremy Koreski has made his mark on a profession in which it’s almost impossibly hard to make a name for yourself. Of the few notable Canadian surf photographers, Koreski is the most well known, and not only over in Canada.
Scotty Sherin is one of the fastest rising stars in the Canadian surf scene, but he hasn’t gotten there with his surfing. Although talented on a board, it’s his aptitude behind the lens that has garnered him worldwide attention.
It seems the Bruhwiler family has something special in their blood. Sepp Bruhwiler grew up on Chesterman’s Beach in Tofino, B.C. At the tender age of six, he pulled on a wetsuit and started on the road to becoming one of the top surfers in Canada.
Usually during an interview, the interviewee knows that you’re there to talk about him. The hardest part about interviewing Noah Cohen was getting him to talk about himself. His flair in the water is only outshone by his humble attitude out of it. As one of the youngest up-and-comers in the Canadian surf scene, Noah has consistently set the bar for progressive surfing.
A staple of the Canadian surf scene since his mid-teens, Raph Bruhwiler shoulders much of the responsibility for raising the Canadian professional surfing bar to where it is now. Raph has cemented himself as one of the hardest charging surfers in the cold water scene, gaining international acclaim for his style, his attitude, and interminable passion for surfing off our rugged coast.
No slouch went it comes to surfing, Peter Devries has been well known among surfers north of the border. If you’re from Canada and you surf, you’ve been hearing about him for years. But it wasn’t until his fairytale win at the O’Neill Cold Water Classic Canada in 2009 that he became a household name.
