Little travels
Three jewellery ranges have been designed, created and delivered – it has been an incredibly busy season, meeting up with new-found designers, artists and buyers. As an artist and jeweller it was exciting and fascinating, but as a traveller and outdoor junkie it left me a bit parched. So instead of the usual chilled weekend at home pondering life in all its many permutations, I decided to go experience and explore them instead. After two months of solid designing it was time to fill my creative cup.

She’s a fickle mistress the sea. And like the worst of them, when you’ve had enough and are ready to walk away, she’ll draw you right back in, only deeper than before.
I recently started au-pairing for a little bit of extra income. During the quiet months in Knysna I make an effort to source an out-of-the-ordinary challenge to couple with endless drawing, writing, photo exploration, skate park inspiration and as much outdoor time as I can possibly fit into one day.
You meet some amazing people through surfing. Venturing far from the beaten path in search of empty and un-crowded waves, you encounter all kinds of weird and wonderful people who live off-beat lives under the radar. There is an authenticity to these people, and you get a real feel for the countries you visit. This is what makes the search all the more rewarding, this is what inspires me to keep searching.
I would like to see myself as a traveling artist/jeweler and my goal is to be able to create anywhere in the world with and on any medium available.
