Scottburgh Point is a fairly exposed point break which is steadily reliable and as a result the town is renowned for its large surfing community. There are quality waves to be found all along the coast especially in winter.
The area is also renowned for its wild crocodiles that frequent the local waterways. These are escapees from the local Crocworld theme park after it was hit by a monster cyclone back in 1987.
Casey Grant is a local lad, ex Billabong junior winner and now participant in the WSL.
