This isn't a shameless plug. This is an encounter with a British company doing something special with surfboards. Surfilm Festibal in Bilbao

September 16, 2010 | Words By: Staff Writer

The Amstel Surfilm Festibal Bilbao has begun… almost; although most of it will be happening this coming Saturday, today -Thursday 16- there’s already plenty of stuff going on in Bilbao.

At 5:30pm they will be showing Jack McCoy’s surf movie making master class open to everyone (Send an e-mail to [email protected] if you are interested as there are not many spots left). Later, at 7:30pm, they are opening Patrick Trefz’s Idiosyncrasies exhibition at the Belaza Gallery.

Tomorrow (Friday 17) there is a screening of Modernist Basque Surfing @ Bilbao’s Loreak Mendian store. And on Saturday, on top of Jack McCoy’s new film A Deeper Shade Of Blue screening, Los Fontane and Los Coronas live act and the opening of the Skeleton Sea exhib, from 5pm they’ll be doing guided S.U.P. and kayak tours on Bilbao’s Ría (with the guys from Hondarribia Paraty S.U.P. Eskola and Bilbobenture).

So don’t forget your towel at home, as they’ve been promised nice weather… And with the guys of the Oficina de Hechos, they are sure to have a good time… Art exhibitions, live music, the screening of one of the most awaited surf movie in ages for FREE next to the ría… Now are you sure you’d rather be somewhere else?
