The lifeguard cover at Mawgan Porth beach near Newquay is to be reviewed after the tragic deaths of three surfers possibly caught in a riptide.
The RNLI lifeguard patrols run from March to September with clear signage warning sea users outside of this time.
The adults believed to be in their 40s and 50s were taken unconscious from the sea while four children also caught in the same accident managed to get out unscathed.
The RNLI stated on BBC website that an inquiry into what happened “will form part of the review into whether we need to extend cover there”.
