The Shred Mill in Hossegor was set-up by two friends Gav & Marty in 2014 and it has been picking up a name across the industry ever since.
This year the English duo have based their operation in new bigger and better premises offering more space on site and superior beach access. The team have collectively over 20 years of experience in the catering and hospitality world running ski chalets, restaurants and bars across the Alps so they bring a wealth of knowledge in catering, top-notch advice, local know-how and of course (if you are inclined) the party scene.
Both being keen surfers and travellers Gav & Marty are there to help you make the most out of your trip and give you everything you’ll need for your stay in the European surfing capital. It is a relaxed atmosphere for all walks of life - whether you’re in town for the surf, or are passing through on your travels, it’s a beautiful spot to spend your time in Hossegor.
No matter your surfing ability, they’ll show you the right wave for you - whether you’re a beginner looking for the best wave to help you get to your feet, or you’re looking to get shacked off your tits in a hefty beach break - The Shred Mill staff have got Hossegor dialled.
THE SURF
The Côte d’Argent is the longest uninterrupted stretch of sandy beach in Europe. Here, swells are focused on to the coast by the deep-water canyon, which juts in towards the coast off Hossegor, this creates sand banks all the way up the beach creating epic hollow beach breaks when the tides, swell and wind are right.
This corner of Europe’s Atlantic coast has the warmest water temperatures, allowing up to three months of surfing in boardshorts. The area boasts many surf spots including the legendary La Gravière which hosts the Quiksilver Pro stop of the WSL World Tour every autumn. The expanse of beach means if you are willing to travel a little, the guys at the Shred Mill can score you quiet, perfect waves.
