TuCamino - Your way, your path…

By Tom · On June 12, 2015

TuCamino offers a unique travel experience geared specifically toward women. The tours in and around Costa Rica and Mexico include yoga, surfing, nature exploration, community service, and much more.  We have been speaking to Nena Ocampo after she decided to follow her passions and set a course of creating this new and individual experience.

Nena a Texan with Mexican heritage wanted to combine with her love of surf, travel, and culture

Nena a Texan with Mexican heritage wanted to combine with her love of surf, travel, and culture and this inspired her to create a travel company in which women could experience the real Costa Rica and Mexico together. She wanted to develop a travel company that stood out from the crowd and one that fostered the creation of meaningful relationships while traveling around these beautiful places.

“We want to emphasise an immersion in local culture, while always having a positive impact on the surrounding communities.” Nena said

“It is not just about learning from other cultures, but also provides a chance to give back to the communities that provide such a rich experience.” she added

It is these core values that set apart TuCamino from a simple package tour operator.

“A sense of purpose, achievement and a chance to bond and support each other as women in finding our ‘paths,’  is why we created TuCamino as a female only travel company - sorry boys!”

Surfing and yoga are an intrinsic part of the trip but the TuCamino team also strongly promote community involvement and cultural awareness.

“We are really dedicated to leaving a positive footprint on the local communities in Puerto Viejo, Costa Rica and Sayulita, Mexico.” Nena emphasised

The experiences are split by the countries visited:
